An exhibition website has two important audiences. Visitors want dates, location, programme and tickets. Companies want to understand the event, explore the floor plan and contact the organiser about taking part. Give each audience a clear next step before choosing images or page layouts.
Write the page map first
- Home: explain the exhibition, where it happens and when.
- Visit: show addresses, opening hours and ticket options.
- Exhibit: explain the stand process and provide the current floor plan.
- Programme and news: keep presentations and practical updates easy to find.
- Contact and information: provide a working contact route and the relevant event information.
If an exhibition uses several buildings, name them consistently on the location pages and on the floor plan. A single venue name is not enough when a visitor needs to find a particular entrance.
Build reusable pages, not one long announcement
In IceExpo, page blocks let the organiser combine headings, text, sliders, tiles and floor plans. Use them to keep practical information separate from promotional stories. A changed opening time should be easy to find and update without rewriting the event introduction.
News is useful for announcing exhibitors or programme changes, but it should not be the only place essential information appears. Put current dates and the ticket link on pages visitors can reach directly from the navigation.
Make the floor plan and ticket journey explicit
Identify the current floor plan clearly. If you display a previous edition using a floor-plan block, label its year and explain that it is an archive. Visitors should not mistake an older layout for current availability.
Test ticket buying on a phone: open the website, choose the relevant day or days, complete the supported payment flow and find the ticket. Review ticket branding and contact details as part of this journey, not as a separate last-minute design task.
Prepare measurement and next year’s content
IceExpo supports an organiser’s Google Tag Manager container. Decide which actions matter before configuring tags: viewing ticket options, starting a purchase or submitting an enquiry. A container alone does not create useful reporting; the tracking configuration still needs to be checked.
When starting from an earlier exhibition, review dates, addresses, news, prices and links before publishing. Reusing the page structure saves work, but last year’s facts should not quietly become this year’s promises.
Frequently asked questions
Can an exhibition website use its own domain?
Yes. IceExpo supports exhibition domains with SSL. Domain setup is part of preparing the website.
Can I show last year’s floor plan?
Yes. A floor-plan page block can display an earlier layout. Label the edition clearly so it is not confused with the current plan.
Does adding Google Tag Manager automatically measure sales?
No. GTM is the place to configure tags. The events and reporting you need must still be implemented and tested.
